Join Blue Ridge Fishing Adventures for the perfect winter escape to the southern Yucatan Peninsula on Chetumal Bay.  While everyone you know is suffering through another winter, you can find yourself under palm trees, surrounded by turquoise waters, dense jungle, and mangrove-lined salt flats.  And did we mention that Xcalak and Chetumal Bay are rated as some of the top fly fishing destinations in the world?!

This is a truly all-inclusive adventure where every detail has been thoughtfully planned with the help of Rockbridge Travel & Tours, LLC.  All you have to do is show up at the airport and then enjoy your fishing trip of a lifetime!

All-Inclusive for $3999 per angler!

The Fishing

With its numerous natural channels, Chetumal Bay provides an ideal habitat for diverse fish species. Within 100 yards of a single shoreline flat, you can cast at bonefish, permit, and tarpon. At certain times of the year, snook leave their mangrove sanctuaries to feed and warm up on the flats, giving anglers prime opportunities to target the “largemouth of the flats.”

On calm days, the oceanside flats and drop-offs provide excellent sight fishing for schools of permit and large, migratory tarpon. On windy days, the lagoons behind Xcalak provide shelter and productive fishing for baby tarpon and snook. In addition to boat fishing, Chetumal also offers excellent wade fishing.
All boats used by the lodge are 23-foot pangas that accommodate two fishermen and a guide. Each is constructed with a forward casting deck, tandem passenger seats, and rod racks.

Accommodations

We'll be staying with our friends at Costa de Cocos.  This intimate, environmentally conscious fishing lodge is set amidst picturesque coconut groves at the end of a long road. The Yucatán jungle, rich with wildlife, is the Lodge’s backyard, with the Caribbean Sea on its doorstep. Here, your comfort is a top priority. Guests stay in one of 16 individual private cabanas built with traditional stonework, rich tropical woods, and thatched roofs. Each cabana has a private bathroom, dual ceiling fans, and a daily cleaning service. The lodge is entirely powered by wind-generated electricity. There is no A/C onsite but the cabanas are designed with local Mayan construction to maximize airflow!

Food and Drinks

Lunch will be provided on both travel days as well on the snorkeling outing.  All other meals and drinks (including adult beverages) are included at at the lodge's Reel Inn Restaurant.  Start each day with a continental breakfast, followed by lunch in the restaurant or a packed cooler to enjoy on the water. Relax on the main deck at the end of each day with appetizers and a cold drink from the all-inclusive bar. Dinners vary from burgers and pizzas to meals with a Caribbean and Mexican touch. Costa De Cocos provides purified bottled water in each cabana.
